5 Fall Crafts for Speech Therapy

If you’re doing a themed unit for fall in your speech therapy sessions, then chances are you will be doing a craft or two with your kiddos! To make life easier for you, I’ve searched Pinterest to come up with 5 fun fall crafts for your speech therapy sessions!

Crafts are a great activity in speech therapy for targeting

  • Articulation (use craft as reinforcement)
  • Following directions
  • Prepositions
  • Vocabulary
  • Descriptive skills
  • Verbs (cut/glue/draw/etc.)
  • Any target you want because crafts are so open ended!

TIP: The last one is the easiest! And it’s free!

1. Popsicle Stick Scarecrow Puppet

This popsicle stick scarecrow puppet from Glued to My Crafts Blog is absolutely adorable! It may require a lot of pieces, but it will be worth it when kids and families see the masterpiece at the end! You can target following directions, prepositions, vocabulary, etc. as you assemble all the parts!

This craft is great for therapy because you get to use a real life object – apples! You can make a whole lesson about apples and apple picking. There are also lots of apple themed activities on TPT! Great reinforcement for the end of an entire session on apples!
